Ngurrara Safety Summit – 2024

Ngurrara Safety Summit – 2024

Ngurrara brought together our Directors, Executives, Crew, and Professional Advisors to hold our second Safety Summit.

Inclusiveness and engagement are embedded into our work culture and the theme for our safety summit for 2024 was Safe Teams and Success (One Team) combined with the message of the importance of Health and Wellbeing.

We were also fortunate to have two of our valued clients, Rio Tinto and BHP, join us this year to share in celebrating our successes and continuing our positive working relationship.

We reflected on 2023 and started our 2024 journey with the safety and wellbeing of everyone at the forefront.

We celebrated the achievements of 2023 and presented the exciting opportunities the new year will bring us.

Mitchell Johnson - Presentation

The guest speaker for our Safety Summit was Australian Cricketing Icon Mitchell Johnson, who was one of Australia’s most effective and intimidating cricketing fast bowlers.

Statistically, Mitchell Johnson ranks as a genuine fast-bowling great of Australian cricket, and his amazing career can be viewed by clicking the below link:

Mitchell spoke honestly and openly about his career origins, the challenges and successes of his career and life after cricket.

Attendees absorbed important safety topics that Mitchell spoke about, including Leadership, Teamwork, Succession, Wellbeing, Resilience, Mentoring, Strategy, and Strength.

The key message was putting in the work and remembering the objectives of the team, and we thank him for his time and his important messages to us.

Training Awards - Ceremony

During October and November 2023, twelve of our Operator crew completed a two week rigorous training regime, where they collectively completed 159 combined units of competencies in the civil and mining operator fields, as part of Ngurrara’s Training and Competency Project.

We were proud to have our Project Manager, Darryl Ahsam, congratulate and present our Operators in attendance with their Training Awards, which you can view by clicking on the below image:
