This award acknowledges and recognises a positive contribution towards managing WHS.
Managing WHS can be achieved through formal management systems, processes, and practices.
WHS management is concerned with ensuring safe and healthy workplaces, work environments and systems of work that enable a capable and competent workforce and that creates a positive WHS culture.
This award acknowledges and recognises outstanding achievements in development and delivery of WHS training programs and information projects that have been effective in creating or promoting WHS.
The provision of training and information by employers are specific key elements of both the common law duty and statutory WHS legislation duty to ensure health and safety for workers.
The provision of training and information is critical to workers understanding of the work, workplace, hazards and risks, and safety and health requirements.
Some recent deliverables of our progress and continuous improvement in WHS are:
Our inaugural safety summit
Our HSE Management System (HSE Documents Suite)
Our Employee Engagement Survey
Our Training and Competency Project
Our ability to risk manage and customise our solutions to any WHS objective and project
Achieving our site-based project objectives, LTI free, with zero harm
We were also finalists in three other categories which were:
Indigenous Engagement in WHS
